Photographer, Writer, & Film Maker
Ronald Nattress is an independent photojournalist, documentary photographer, writer, and film maker based in Clearwater, FL and available for assignments around the world.
His work specializes in telling captivating stories of local people and industries that shape the world we live in. His work has been published with Docu Magazine featuring a collection of local beach life in Florida.
Currently he is working on two self-funded projects called “Diving for Sponges” and “Vietnamese Street Market.” Every Monday he releases a weekly newsletter on Substack highlighting tips, lessons, and thoughts on photography. Also, starting this year he will be releasing a Zine featuring his favorite photos of the previous year.
Documentary Photography
The majority of my professional career is spent traveling to unique locations looking for stories to tell through images. I love the opportunity of getting access behind the scenes of people and places that shape the world we live in today.
Portrait Photography
When I am not involved in documentary projects I offer portraiture photo sessions. Similar to finding stories around the world, there is a wonderful opportunity to provide a story about person with a photo and I strive to capture that story in every shoot.
Writer & Curator
I write a weekly newsletter on Substack where I discuss the creative process of photography and my personal journey as a photographer. I also publish articles for many various sources and outlets.
YouTube & Film Maker
This is a new venture for me but a fun one nevertheless. I recently started making educational photography videos on YouTube. I also work freelance as a Videographer, Director of Photography, and Film Editor.
